Learn moreSpartan Electrical Scotland is run by the two people whose name is on the door. When you book a job, one of them is on site.
Chris has over 20 years experience as a qualified electrician covering the domestic, commercial and industrial sectors. Chris started his electrical career as an apprenticeship with Abbeyhill Electrical and then worked with Neil Barrett Electrical Contractors.
He has gone on to complete hospitals and industrial projects throughout the UK. Chris holds an SVQ Level 3 in Electrical and Technical Engineering, plus 18th Edition standards to BS7671.
He is qualified in providing BPEC Solar and Battery installations. Chris went on to co-found Spartan Electrical with Carlos on October 4, 2021. For recreation, Chris enjoys rugby, computers, gaming and spending quality time with his family.
Carlos originates from Almansa (Spain) and lives in Edinburgh. A qualified electrician for over 14 years in both Spain and the UK with SVQ Level 3 in Electrical and Technical Engineering, plus 18th Edition standards to BS7671.
As a qualified electrician, Carlos covers electrical services in the domestic, commercial and industrial sectors. He is also qualified in providing BPEC Solar and Battery installations.
Carlos met Chris in 2017, and they both established Spartan Electrical together in 2021 in Edinburgh, where they provide electrical, solar and lighting services to the City and the surrounding area. Carlos enjoys family time and sports, especially football.
Spartan Electrical Scotland is run by Chris Reilly and Carlos Tomas Callado, two qualified electricians who set the company up in 2021 because they saw too many customers being let down by poor communication, late arrivals and substandard work. Their answer was straightforward: a local, NAPIT registered firm where the people you meet on site are the people whose name is on the door.
Every quote is free, every certificate is included, and every job is explained before any work starts. We talk you through the options, including the trade-offs, so the decision you make is yours and not a sales pitch. We do not work on commission and we do not upsell.
We cover everything a home or small commercial property needs electrically: consumer unit upgrades, EV chargers, EICR inspections, full house rewires, planned maintenance, solar PV with Sigenergy batteries, and LED lighting with smart controls. If we are not the right people for a particular job, we will say so and point you somewhere reliable.
We are based in Edinburgh and we work across the Lothians, Fife, the Borders, Livingston and Glasgow. Many of our customers come back to us for the next job or recommend us to friends, neighbours and letting-agent contacts. That kind of word-of-mouth is the thing we are proudest of.
We cover Edinburgh, East Lothian, West Lothian, Midlothian, Fife, the Borders, Livingston and Glasgow. If you are unsure whether your postcode is within our coverage area, call 0131 202 2711 and we will confirm. Standard hours are Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00.
Spartan Electrical Scotland is run by Chris Reilly and Carlos Tomas Callado, two qualified electricians who founded the company in 2021. Both are hands-on every day. When you call Spartan you are dealing directly with the people who care about the job being done properly, not a call centre.
Yes. Spartan Electrical Scotland is NAPIT registered, so all notifiable electrical work is signed off through our scheme and notified to building control automatically. You receive an Electrical Installation Certificate for every job that requires one.
